Opportunities to join the reSAID Lab at Case Western Reserve University
We welcome motivated students and researchers interested in responsible AI engineering, software engineering for AI, LLMs and coding agents, AI safety, fairness, reliability, and technical debt. Our lab provides a collaborative environment with state-of-the-art GPU computing resources (five HGX servers with 40 NVIDIA H200 GPUs and several A100 GPUs).
Open Positions
- Ph.D. students — Ongoing (LLMs, coding agents, AI fairness and safety)
- M.S. students — Research thesis opportunities (ongoing)
- Undergraduate researchers — Ongoing (minimum 8–10 hrs/week)
Prospective Ph.D. Students
Apply through the Case School of Engineering PhD programs (Department of Computer and Data Sciences) and mention the reSAID Lab and Dr. Sumon Biswas in your statement. Strong candidates typically have:
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Strong programming skills (Python preferred)
- Experience or interest in machine learning, software engineering, or formal methods
- Strong writing and communication skills
M.S. Students
Current CWRU M.S. students interested in a research thesis are welcome to reach out. Strong performers may be considered for Ph.D. admission.
Undergraduate Researchers
We welcome CWRU undergraduates who want hands-on research experience. Priority is given to students who have taken CSDS 447, machine learning, or software engineering coursework.
Visiting Students and Collaborators
We are open to collaborations with researchers at other institutions. Please reach out with your background and research interests.
